Hello! My name is Maria Donadio and I am currently a Post-Bac student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am studying K-12 Education with an emphasis on foreign language education and ESL! My goal in the future is to become a High School Spanish teacher and ESL teacher to promote bilingualism in our school districts here in Wisconsin. Growing up in a bilingual (Brazilian) family, I learned how important it is to know more than one language in this day and age. Having my family at home to speak Portuguese with and having great teachers at school to speak English with, really helped me develop into the person I am today. A good website for a future resource is Duolingo. Duolingo is also an app that the students can download on their phones to practice Spanish outside of class, potentially during summer break, just to keep up their progress!
As an educator, I will be very organized and with that, I will color code things to make things easier to learn. I was able to find an image online that represents what I am talking about! Image found at La Clase de Sra. Peterson

Hi Maria. I really admire your choice to become an ESL teacher; it's such an important role that will help ensure that all students receive a chance to succeed.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that your resource is something that students can take outside of the classroom. What a great way to keep the interest in the subject going while not at school!
